What Happened?

Last week a Travis County District Court Judge ruled against King Street et al in a case brought against us by the Texas Democrat Party. Reports were that we'd lost our non-profit status. Nope. That's not what the ruling was even about. So, what was it about? Glad you asked. We were challenging the constitutionality of the entire case, essentially making the argument that the lawsuit is unconstitutional on the grounds that it violates our right to free speech. Our position was that the case should be dismissed. The Travis County District Court Judge said no. Surprise, surprise. We knew that was coming. So, on to the Austin Court of Appeals we go. Professor John Buckles, a law professor from University of Houston, got wind of the judgment, picked it apart piece by piece and found, lo and behold, that the Democrat Party entirely misrepresented the ruling. Regrettably, our hometown media was already parroting the party line, setting in motion a tsunami of obfuscation. Since then, there have been countless articles written, trumpeting our imminent downfall, all of them conveniently failing to mention that the Judge who decided against us is known as a "legendary" supporter of the Texas Democrat Party. Here's what Big Jolly, Breitbart, and The Great One, Mark Levin, had to say (listen to the last 38 min). Thank heaven for the truth-tellers.
