The idea for this event came to us shortly after Easter 2011. Many of us had participated in Seder meals and began talking about how the Jewish heritage has remained strong, in part, because they know from whence they've come. They know their story. We wondered how Americans would tell their story. What would our Seder story be? With 4th of July around the corner, we decided we'd put together an event that reminded us of the unique American balance of faith, liberty, and unity; Those simple but profound traits were as exceptional then as they are now. They've helped us tell our story throughout history, and they'll help us start telling it again. We produced this event for the first time on June 27, 2011, and it was met with rave reviews.
